Edmonton Public Library: Baby Programs

If you’re looking for great free activities to do with your babes the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) is the place to be. The EPL has an excellent web page which summarizes their offerings for babies, but here are the highlights:
Free library card and board book
My son got his library card at 4 weeks old. In addition to the free library card (which is available to anyone under 18 years of age) babies under two get a free board book!
Tons of free programs to attend
The EPL offers programming for all ages, and this includes a huge variety of programs for the under-1 set. Options include Baby Laptime, Daddy and Baby Time, and Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn.
Another great program is Books for Babies, which is hosted by the EPL but run by the Centre for Family Literacy. At Books for Babies your little one gets a free book every week!
The programs listed above are run at libraries across the city at varying times so you can choose the location and day that is most convenient for you. Most of them are drop-in, with no registration required. You can visit the EPL website for a full list of children’s programming including dates and locations.
City and Baby is thrilled to have Karen Parker as one of our contributors. Karen is a relatively new Edmontonian and we look forward to her fresh perspective as she shares baby-friendly activties, restaurants and more.
