Olde Time Fair
What: Turn back time and enjoy a traditional fair.
Why: Many things to do and see - carnival games, food, kids play area, face painting, square dancing, live music, horse and wagon rides.
Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square. Edmonton Food Bank donations accepted.
When: Saturday, October 13, 2012 10am – 3pm
S’Caring’ for Kids
Scarecrow Festival
What: A Halloween festival for families featuring pay-per games, crafts and activities. Proceeds from the event benefit ABC Headstart.
Why: This is their last year so make sure to dress up and have some fun.
Where: Edmonton Expo Centre, Northlands Hall B. $3 admission. Under 2 years is free.
When: Friday, October 12 – Sunday, October 14
Get ready to scream
Galaxyland Trick or Treat Festival
What: Trick or treat for ghoulish goodies, ride the Halloween train and participate in fun Halloween activities.
Why: A good excuse to wear your costume early and go on some rides.
Where: West Edmonton Mall, Galaxyland
When: Saturday, October 14, 20, 27 and Sunday, October 14, 21, 28. 11am – 4pm
Cartoons Come To Life
My Little Pony & Chuck The Dump Truck
What: These favourite characters will be performing live and delighting toddlers and preschoolers, no doubt.
Where: Bonnie Doon Mall
When: Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13, 2012. 11am and 2pm.
Pumpkins Everywhere
Haunted Pumpkin Festival
What: Celebrate pumpkin harvest at the farm.
Why: Go to see the pumpkin cannon. Make a FREE scarecrow making. Enjoy live music, mimes and mazes. The petting farm is always a favourite too.
Where: Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm
When: Weekends from Sept 29 - Oct 28, 2012
Tip: Bring your camera. There are sure to be beautiful moments and fall colours to capture.
Movie Time
Reel Family Cinema
What: Afternoon showing of classic films we all adore.
Why: The Goonies this Saturday’s show. Perhaps a bit mature for most of our kids. Children under 12 are free.

When: Saturday, September 13, 2012. 12 pm.
Elephants, Tigers and Bears Oh My!
World Animal Day
What: A day of special activities to celebrate creatures small and big.
Why: Go on a scavenger hunt, get up close with animal encounters, make a craft and enjoy a cupcake.
Where: Edmonton Valley Zoo 13315 Buena Vista Road (87th Avenue)
When: Sunday October 14, 2012. 12 - 4pm
Shopping Extravaganza
Flaunt
What: Get a head start on Christmas shopping by browsing 75 local women-owned businesses under one roof.
Why: Go early to get a swag bag. Let dad and the kids bounce in the Toy Hutch's bouncy tent, then grab a wine sample and start shopping.
Where: The Enjoy Centre, St. Albert.
When: Sunday, October 14, 2012.
*admission is free in lieu of monetary or diaper donation to the Terra Centre for pregnant & parenting teens.
Horse Lovers Show
Cavalia
What: Cavalia is a unique mix of equestrian and performing arts, multimedia and special effects.
Why: An unbelievable sight. Beautiful horses, live music, acrobatic stunts and dance combined into an awesome experience.
Where: Edmonton City Centre Airport, White Big Top
When: Extended to October 21, 212. Saturday and Sunday matinees too.
Corny Fun
Edmonton Corn Maze
What: A beautiful way to spend an afternoon outdoors.
Why: Kids will love their massive jumping pillow and friendly animals. We love that they donate $1 to the Edmonton Food Bank from each admission.
Where: South Spruce Grove area. Map. Admission: Adults $10. Child (5- 11) $8. Child <5 Free.
When: Friday – Monday this long weekend. Open until Oct 20, 2012.
