What: Watch a FREE movie with your family. Purchase a regular popcorn and drink for only $2 each. Concession proceeds will be donated to the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Why: An very affordable Saturday morning family outing that entertains you, while raising funds to help entertain sick children and their families.

Science Gets Silly
Garry Krinsky presents Toying with Science
What: Juggling, balance, clowning and theatre mixed together to demonstrate basic scientific principles.
Why: Entertaining education. Go early for pre-show actives and stay after for a juice and snack.
Where: St. Albert, Arden Theatre. Tickets: $18 Adult

Edmonton Comedy Festival – Kids Show
What: Rapid Fire Theatre brings a fun filled adventure of improv, puppets and shenanigans aimed at the young and the young at heart.
Why: All the material is family friendly and family funny.
Where: Zeidler Theatre, Citadel Theatre. Adults $10. Kids $5. Tickets available at the door.

Halloween Fun
Bug Out
When: It’s an afternoon of creepy crawly Halloween fun, that’s more fun than scary. Don’t forget to wear your costumes.
Why: Get up close with insects, spiders and snakes, then make a spider craft, release a ladybug and go on a buggy scavenger hunt in the pyramids.

What: The Telus World of Science unveiled their newest gallery this week. The Environment Gallery featuring Science on a Sphere, Rock Hounds, Eco Explorers, Ice Detectives & Storm Trackers themes.
Why: If you go this weekend, bring your stones and bones that you own to APEGA's Rock & Fossil Clinic.

Art Adventure
What: AGA goes baroque-spooky. Get inspired by the new exhibition Beautiful Monsters: Beasts and Fantastic Creatures in Early European Prints
Why: Create exquisite creatures, participate in storytelling activities on our fun family tour, make a Baroque-inspired print or collaborate in a ghoulishly great corpse drawing.

Galaxyland Trick or Treat Festival
What: Trick or treat for ghoulish goodies, ride the Halloween train and participate in fun Halloween activities.
Why: A good excuse to wear your costume early and go on some rides.

Corny Fun
Edmonton Corn Maze
What: A beautiful way to spend an afternoon outdoors.
Why: Kids will love their massive jumping pillow and friendly animals. We love that they donate $1 to the Edmonton Food Bank from each admission.
Where: South Spruce Grove area. Map. Admission: Adults $10. Child (5- 11) $8. Child <5 Free.
When: Friday – Monday this long weekend. Open until Oct 20, 2012.
Horse Lovers Show
Cavalia
What: Cavalia is a unique mix of equestrian and performing arts, multimedia and special effects.
Why: An unbelievable sight. Beautiful horses, live music, acrobatic stunts and dance combined into an awesome experience.

When: Extended to October 21, 212. Saturday and Sunday matinees too.
Pumpkins Everywhere
Haunted Pumpkin Festival
What: Celebrate pumpkin harvest at the farm.
Why: Go to see the pumpkin cannon. Make a FREE scarecrow making. Enjoy live music, mimes and mazes. The petting farm is always a favourite too.
