Windermere Grand Opening
What: Cineplex’s newest theatre in SW Edmonton is stunning and they’re celebrating the opening with a Saturday morning Community Day.
Why: Choose from 5 FREE movies. Make sure to pick up regular popcorn and regular drink for $2. Concession proceeds benefit the Starlight Foundation.

New To Me Sale

Little Monsters Swap Meet
What: Hailed as one of Edmonton and Area’s best Outgrown It Sales. Selling new and gently used children’s furniture, strollers, bikes, books, toys, clothing and sporting equipment.
Where: TransAlta Tri Leisure Center, 221 Jennifer Heil Way, Spruce Grove

When: Saturdays: April 28, June 9, August 25, September 22. 11am – 3pm

Admission: Early bird (11am-12pm): $5. Regular (12-2pm): $2. After 2pm: Free.

Shop Local 

On the Spot Pop Up Craft Sale
What: One-of-a-kind pop up market featuring Edmonton’s original handcrafted artisans including jewelry, clothing, toys, home decor, accessories and more.
Why: Buy the items in the prize basket there, if you’re not the lucky winner. Plus, Blue Skys Cafe will be open too so you can sip, savour and shop in a relaxed atmosphere.

Dig Dinosaurs?

Jurassic Forest
What: The dinosaurs are coming out of their winter slumber this weekend. So get ready for the season opener.
Why: Fantastic display of mechanical, moving dinosaurs. More in this post.

When: Opens Friday, April 27 at 9am

Just Dance

International Dance Day – April 29

International Dance Day is celebrated every April 29 with events across Canada and around the world. The date commemorates the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, regarded as the founder of modern ballet.

I can’t seem to find a young family friendly dance event on Sunday - International Dance Day - that shouldn’t stop you from having a big dance party with your kids at home.

There is a pancake breakfast and CAER Fair at Capilano Mall from 9-1 on Saturday. There will be a petting zoo, fire trucks, etc. Check out the Capilano Mall facebook page.
