The Works Festival with Edmonton International Jazz Festival
What: The creative collaboration is back this year bring art and design, music, performance art, improve and workshops to all across Edmonton.
Family friendly activities are predominately at Churchill Square. Listen to live music, check out the Handmade Mafia goodies, grab a snack and create a piece of art in the Family Programs Workshop tent.

Hug A Tree
Summer Solstice Tree Festival
What: A celebration of our leafy friends. Take a nature walk, learn about composting, plant a tree and taste bannock.
Why: Enter into the 1.5 km Kids Tree-athon. At the finish line, kids plant a tree and water it. And get one for home too.
Where: John Janzen Nature Centre
When: Saturday, June 23, 2012. 9:30am – 1pm
Imagination Station
Summer Reading Club
What: Read, collect stamps, get interactive and be rewarded for being a book lover through the summer.
Why: The books you read to your child count too, so even the very youngest can participate.
Where: Edmonton Public Libraries across the city
When: Program kicks off on June 23 with special activities at some branches, and runs until August 18, 2012.
Doggie Delight
20th Annual Pets in the Park
What: Pets and families take over the park in an all day celebration plus a walk/ fun run to raise funds for Edmonton Humane Society.
Why: In addition to checking out all the animals, go see the dancing dogs, play a carnival game, watch a sheep herding demo and stop by the IAM’s tent for children’s activities and face painting.
Where: Hawrelak Park. Consider parking at the U of A Stadium Car Park and take the $1pp shuttle.
