This is one of my favourite summer weekends in Edmonton. Frivolous and fun. We are looking forward to Capital Ex and watching some great racing. How are you spending time with your family this weekend?

Capital Ex
What: 10 days of exhibition fun. Rides, games, entertainment, shopping, food, and mini-donuts. Use their handy planner to help organize your day.
Why: Check out these 10 fun things to do with your kids at Capital Ex.
Where: Northlands, 116 Avenue and 73 Street.
When: Friday, July 20 – Sunday, July 29, 2012. Noon to midnight.
Tip: Take the LRT to the Coliseum Station and save yourself the hassle of trying to find parking.
Sweet and Savory
Taste of Edmonton
What: Edmonton restaurants serve up delightful samples of their best dishes while you are entertained by live music.
Why: Mouth watering, kid-sized portions makes everyone happy.
Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square
When: Thursday, July 19 – Saturday, July 30. 11am - 11pm
Start Your Engines
Edmonton Indy
What: A world-class Indy race that will have your heart pumping and other race week activities.
Why: If you have a little one that adores cars, this will blow their mind. There will be more family-friendly activities this year.
Where: Edmonton City Centre Airport
When: Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22.
Tip: Please make sure to get earplugs or hearing protective earmuffs to protect their little ears. AMA’s tent will have some free earplugs if you need some.
