What: Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Alberta is hosting a block party to thank and celebrate the community for it’s support. We went last year and had so much fun playing games, listening to live music, touring the house and checking out the fire truck. What To Do With Kids This Weekend In Edmonton | November 14 - 16, 2014

With the snow and the Christmas lights up downtown it’s definitely feeling more like Christmas. This weekend marks the start of all the holiday events – arrival of Santa, light-ups, craft shows. 


Christmas on the Square Holiday Lightup
Live music, carolers, balloon artists and at 6:30pm Santa waves the magic wand to light up the giant spruce tree. A fantastic fireworks display follows. Bring a donation to the Edmonton Food Bank to help fellow families.

It’s a relatively quiet weekend for scheduled events, but if you need to get out of the house check out here are a few ideas:

Indoor Farmers Markets:

Get geared up for ski season:

Catch a movie:

- Cineplex Family Favourites – Rango. $2.50 admission.

Play Outside
This may be our last weekend without snow for 2014, so we will be riding bikes and playing in the park. Hopefully it will burn off all those yummy Halloween treats.

Daylight savings time begins on Sunday, November 2 and that means moving your clocks back one hour. Pre-kids it also meant an extra hour of glorious sleep. Now it means another early morning wakeup and a hot cup of coffee.

Mom Pop & Tots Fair
A favourite family oriented tradeshow. Great vendors plus plenty of things to do with the kids. Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora, magic, bouncy tent, chalk drawing dancing and the petting zoo are only a few highlights that the kids will love.

Law Day
Learn more about law, courts and Chart of Rights during Law Day. Go see the Children’s Mock Trial “Sleeping Beauty v. Spectacular Spinning
