my letter to Santa

Dear Santa

I hope you've had a lovely 2010. How are Mrs. Claus and the elves doing at the north pole? I am secretly happy that it's colder where you live than in Edmonton. Thinking of your weather helps me get out of the house, even on our coldest days.

I've been a very good mommy this year. I have: played enthusiastically with my kids; read the same book over and over; taken them on adventures to expand their world and gave them lots of unconditional love. Sure, I probably didn’t bath them as often as I should. I let the TV entertain them periodically. And, I relied on jam or cheese sandwiches a bit too much. But, all in all, I think I should be on your ‘nice list’.

What's on my wish list this year? I’d like you to bring all the mommies a bit of “me time” so they can rejuvenate. 2011 is going to a busy year and I want them all to feel refreshed and ready to conquor another year. Plus they deserve a break.

We will be leaving you cookies and milk. Don't tell the kids, but the milk will be spiked with Kahlua. Make sure Rudolph does the driving this year.

Love, mommy Jen
